Mission Statement

The Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church Child Learning Center’s mission is to provide a rich learning environment that stimulates physical, cognitive, social/emotional, and language development. We provide programs that help children, families and employees work together to be their very best. We are committed to providing the highest quality childcare and early education available for our children. We strive to create a learning experience that builds a child’s self esteem and prepares them by fostering individuality and independence. We provide the foundation that children need for a promising future. The Learning Center is further committed to providing a unique environment for students and staff to learn about your children through observation, interaction and research.

Location and Facilities

Previously known as Meharry Preschool, the Fifteenth Avenue Child Learning Center is now located on the corner of Ninth Avenue North and Scovel Street, on the first floor of the Educational wing of Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church. Our facility has been prepared to meet the needs of young children. There are six classrooms to accommodate appropriate age groups. Our infant classroom is a self-contained room with separate play and sleep areas. Our indoor play area (in the gym) is available for large muscle activity. The playground, which is adjacent to the Learning Center, is designed to ensure safety as well as fun. The entrances are secure and the main door is equipped with a security camera. The entire Learning Center is in compliance with fire, health, and licensing standards as prescribed by the Department of Human Services of the State of Tennessee.
