We’re About a Sacred Trust!

As Pastor of the historic Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, it is my delight to welcome you to our corporate family. Our fellowship had its humble beginning in 1885 on Stonewall Street, now Jo Johnston Street. Over the years we have been blessed with the favor of our God to enlarge our territory. We realize that of whom we are, what we are, and who we are becoming is not our doing, but the Lord’s. As God continues to grant us increase, we must give HIM Glory.
There are four things we must individually and collectively to in order to assure that the services we perform in no way hinder His glory or tarnish our reputation as servants of the Kingdom.

* Esteem others greater than ourselves—we must be always ready to give others the benefit of the doubt in our service. There’s an adage in marketing: “The customer is always right.” The adage is the living principle of the Judeo-Christian witness.
* We must be an intentional steward of our service –We must approach each opportunity of service as a sacred trust.
* We must be men and women of integrity –We must always operate beyond reproach with both resources and people. We must not compromise the trust and confidence of the church.
* We must be good stewards of our resources –We must be faithful and trustworthy in all of our dealings.

In fulfilling these things, we can become co-partners in a cause that is greater than our individual selves and can help transform our world. Again, welcome to our family. It is my fervent prayer that you will find Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church to be a wonderful place.

“This was the lord’s doing: it is marvelous in our eyes.”
Psalm 118:23
