Beloved of the Lord,

For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, it is a gift of God not of works so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV)

This year as I went before the Lord to determine what our focus for 2008 would be, God reminded me that he has called his children to be his representatives in the earth realm. Our 2008 theme is simple: “The Church, God’s Transforming Agent in the World: Walking in the Light of our Redemption.”

When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, thou we were dead in trespasses and sins, we are made alive together with Christ. We are translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. As children of the light, we go forth as representatives of God, making a difference, transforming our world, in our society, in our community, and wherever our sphere of influence carries us.

To this end, our programs and mission will focus on us embodying our role as, “The Church, God’s Transforming Agent in the World: Walking in the Light of our Redemption.
