Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church

Welcome to the ministry of the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church, the “House of Faith for the Family.”
Over the past 124 years, we as a faith community have attempted to maintain a viable and visible spiritual presence in the Davidson County/Nashville communities that would contribute to the up-lift of humanity and would glorify our God. Our history is rich and suggests we have accomplished much and have solidified strong name recognition within our community. The Apostle Paul writes to the church at Ephesus (2:10); “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” We, the congregation, see ourselves as God workmanship or in the original language, “God’s poiema” (English poetry) whose purpose it is to do good works that God has already prepared for us to do. Therefore, the journey is not a destination or a goal, rather a perpetual state of becoming God’s agency in the world. We are God’s poetry, thus the content of this Web-site is five-fold: To remind ourselves that we are indeed in a perpetual state of change and becoming; to share with you some of what God is doing through us and in us; to provide you, the viewers, information and insights about current issues that are impacting our lives and our world; to provide a religious venue for those who are looking for spiritual guidance and inspiration through the internet, and to invite others who are perhaps looking to partner with a faith community in “blessing that which God has already blessed in the world.”
